Beth Roberts is the Vice President of the Office of Foreign Policy at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC). In this role, Beth advises the Corporation’s senior leadership on foreign policy matters across the globe where DFC has more than $40 billion in exposure across debt, equity, political risk insurance, and technical assistance transactions. She also leads a team of foreign policy experts across seven regions and two priority sectors that engage with the White House, interagency colleagues, and external stakeholders at the nexus of foreign policy, strategic competition, and development finance to ensure DFC’s unique set of financial tools are deployed to advance U.S. foreign policy priorities. Previously, Beth served as DFC’s Managing Director for Policy for Africa and the Middle East/North Africa, overseeing foreign policy strategy in these dynamic regions.
Prior to joining DFC, Beth worked for more than a decade at the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), including as an Advisor to the CEO, and a Senior Program Officer on MCC’s team charged with harnessing blended finance tools to increase private sector investment in MCC partner countries. In these roles, Beth helped develop and implement compacts across the global portfolio, with a particular focus on Africa and South Asia.
Early in her career, Beth served as a small enterprise development volunteer in Peace Corps Mali and as a Manager at APCO Worldwide, counseling domestic and international health care clients in policy and public affairs.
Beth is a graduate of Elon University, and is a Truman National Security Project Security Fellow. She lives with her husband and two daughters in Washington, D.C.
