Conor Coleman is the Head of Investments at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), where he plays a key leadership role in shaping and advancing DFC’s investment strategy. He sits on the agency’s Investment Committee alongside the Chief Executive Officer and other senior officials and is actively involved with investment-related activities.
In addition to his role as the Head of Investments, Mr. Coleman is the Chief of Staff and serves as the principal advisor to the CEO and a senior leader in the agency’s strategic and operational management. In this capacity, Mr. Coleman coordinates agency priorities and ensures effective implementation of DFC’s foreign policy and investment agenda.
Mr. Coleman brings extensive experience in global capital markets and cross-border investment. Prior to entering public service, he was a founding member of the investment team at Fortinbras Enterprises LP, where he helped develop investment strategy and managed a diverse portfolio of investments spanning the capital structure with a particular focus on equity, credit, and special situations investing. Additionally at the firm, he held senior leadership roles such as Chief Compliance Officer and Director of Middle East Operations.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Coleman worked in the Debt Advisory & Restructuring Group at Jefferies, where he advised clients on capital structure solutions, and at Beach Point Capital Management. His board experience includes serving as a director of Melanbo HoldCo and as a board observer at Peninsula Real Estate.
Mr. Coleman holds a B.A., magna cum laude, in International Relations from Tufts University, with minors in Entrepreneurial Leadership Studies and Philosophy. As captain of the Tufts soccer team, Mr. Coleman led his teammates to two NCAA National Championships.
