Ms. Erica Ehst currently serves as Vice President, leading the Office of Energy at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC). In her role, she oversees the agency’s energy team and strategy, as well as DFC’s political risk insurance program. Her leadership is pivotal in underwriting financing for a diverse array of energy projects and underwriting political insurance across sectors in developing and emerging market countries. Her expertise lies in evaluating financing proposals and structuring project opportunities across multiple industries. Previously, she served as Co-Head for the Office of Structured Finance and Insurance at DFC.
Before joining DFC, Ms. Ehst worked at Marriott International, focusing on finance and hotel opportunities globally. Her career also includes significant roles as Vice President at Allied Capital Corporation, where she structured and negotiated mezzanine finance and private equity transactions, and at Duke Capital Partners, where she provided mezzanine debt to energy companies. Additionally, she was part of the Energy and Power mergers and acquisition team at Banc of America Securities.
Ms. Ehst holds an MBA with honors from Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business and a certificate in International Diplomacy from Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service. She graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Emory University.
