John Warren became DFC’s first Assistant Inspector General for Investigations (AIGI) in August 2021. Prior to that he was the AIGI at Peace Corps OIG and also served as assistant special agent in charge at the Department of Homeland Security OIG’s Houston Field Office. John was the Department of State’s regional security officer (RSO) at the U.S. Consulate-General in Ciudad Juarez and assistant RSO at the U.S. embassies in Santiago, Chile and Karachi, Pakistan. He was also a special agent at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Internal Affairs, the Department of Justice OIG, and the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service. He served with the U.S. Army in Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm and is a graduate of George Mason University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in international studies.
