Investment Funds Specialists—Provide financing to private equity and other fund vehicles that invest in certain regions and sectors in developing economies.

Project Finance Specialists/Project Finance & Insurance Project Specialists—Responsible for facilitating U.S. investment in emerging market economies by providing medium- to long-term loans and guaranties and/or political risk insurance. These specialists carry out the full range of new project financings and undertake all tasks required to process transactions from initial screening through due diligence, negotiating and structuring, approval, documentation, and closing and funding. Positions with an insurance component are also responsible for providing political risk insurance coverage and are responsible for all tasks required to process transactions from registration through assessment, approval process, negotiations on terms, finalizing the contract, providing advocacy services, and processing claims. 

Portfolio Monitoring Specialists—Monitor outstanding non-financial sector projects and corporate loans. These professionals work to maximize return on distressed assets through financial restructuring and advocacy. 

Budget Officers & Financial Managers—Manage DFC’s budget as a means to achieve the mission and maintain all accounting and financial records.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must meet applicable basic education requirements, depending on position. 
  • Specialized Experience: Must have relevant experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge or skills essential to satisfactory performance in the particular position. Specialized Experience is located under the Requirements section of each USAJOBS announcement.   
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens, nationals, or those who owe allegiance to the U.S.   
  • Applicants must be able to successfully pass a background investigation.
