Acting Vice President of External Affairs
Amanda Burke is Acting Vice President of External Affairs at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC). She has 17 years of experience working with U.S. foreign policy and international development issues. As Acting Vice President, Ms. Burke oversees public relations, marketing, stakeholder engagement, and external relations activities including communications, congressional outreach, and interagency affairs. She also served in this role at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) before its transformation to DFC.
Prior to OPIC, she helped develop the Office of Congressional and Public Affairs at the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), during its launch in 2005. While at MCC, Ms. Burke covered diplomatic relations, press, global branding, and legislative affairs. After MCC, she worked with the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Office of Development Credit Authority where she managed digital media and communications.
While attending Seton Hall University and George Mason University earning a B.A. in Diplomacy and International Relations, she interned with the Embassy of Australia and for a member of Congress in the House of Representatives on the House Foreign Relations Committee in Washington, D.C. Ms. Burke is an alumna of George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management. She is a Certified Protocol Officer from the Protocol School of Washington and a member of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Women’s Global Leadership Program.
